Spiral point tap is a deformation of the straight flute tap. The cutting edge of the straight flute is slanted to form an angle, and the chips are discharged forward along the direction of feed. Made of high speed steel (HSS), threading tool is good for general purpose applications, offering high hardness, toughness and wear resistance. Round Shank with Square End Universal square shank is strong and durable. Can be used with a wide variety of tool holding systems. Spiral Point Threading Taps The taps have clear threads and sharp cutting edge by automatic fine grinding process. Good for processing non-ferrous metals, stainless steel and ferrous metals, aluminum, die steel. Used on drill presses, tapping machines, automatic machine tools, machining centers, CNC and milling machines. GENERAL SELECTION BASIS Warm Tips Use with tapping oil to get higher quality thread and more durable taps. It is easy to cause damage for uneven force if the machine taps are used by hand. When selecting the cutting speed, please consider the tap material, type, thread teeth, hole shape, effective diameter of the bottom hole, processing material and cutting oil . Be sure to select the appropriate cutting oil for complex tapping process. Spiral Point Tap: M2 x 0.4 thread with H2 tolerance, DIN371/376 standard, right hand thread cutting. Straight flutes taps provide provide downward chip removal, with clear threads and sharp cutting edges. Material & Finish: 6542 high speed steel metric taps run at high speeds and generate threads quickly and efficiently, offering high hardness (HRC62-64), wear resistance, and good toughness. TICN coating for improving wear resistance, hardness, heat resistance, lubricity. Applications: Thread taps are great for through-hole threads. Flutes on the screw tap help to remove chips and debris from the hole. How to Use: Suitable for drill presses, tapping machines, CNC and milling machines. Warm Tips: Machine taps are suggested to be used with tap chucks with overload protection. It is not recommended for hand use and electric drill tapping. Micro taps (such as M1-M3.5) are mainly used for clocks, watches, low-hardness woods, and soft metals.
